Unfolding Lands

Where Art Maps Our Stories
Unfolding Lands is a cultural project where art becomes a map—revealing the journeys we carry, the stories we inherit, and the futures we imagine. Through the arts, we explore how creativity can redefine dominant narratives, amplify underrepresented voices, and build a more inclusive, empathetic world.
Since 2016, our cultural practice has revolved around the theme of migration.
Early projects like Good Night and Good Luck laid the foundation, drawing from research into displacement and transnational identity. That work led to collaborations with artists such as: Ngozi Schommers — a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores memory, identity, and cultural continuity. Stefano Serretta — a visual artist and historical researcher reframing narratives of power, borders, and belonging. These experiences solidified our belief in the transformative potential of art to tell stories of movement, resilience, and human connection.
Unfolding Lands is both a platform and a growing archive. Our goal is to document artists working on migration, diaspora, identity, and border-making through: Exhibition visits, Artist conversations, Visual and written documentation.
This project will evolve into a catalogue—a rich and nuanced collection of artists and practices engaging with migration. Ultimately, we envision it becoming a published journal or book, museum-worthy and archival in its purpose and scope.
Creativity is an asset to society.
In a world shaped by movement, memory, and change, Unfolding Lands invites us to reflect, remember, and reimagine. Through this project, we honour the artists whose work makes visible the invisible, giving voice to histories and futures that deserve to be seen, heard, and preserved.
